Family Feature — last updated August 22, 2026

Family Feature is a family movie watchlist app. This page explains what data it collects and how it's used, in plain terms.

What we collect

The only data the app handles is your movie watchlist: which movies you've marked watched, starred as "want to watch," and the order you've put them in.

By default, this data is stored only in your browser's local storage, on your own device. It is never sent to us, sold, or shared with anyone.

Optional Google sync

If you choose to sign in with Google, the app saves your watchlist as a single small file in your Google Drive app data folder, using Google's drive.appdata permission. That permission means the app can only see and edit its own hidden app-specific configuration data — it cannot see, read, or modify the rest of your Google Drive.

Signing in is entirely optional. The app works fully without it, using local storage on your device instead.

What we don't do

Third-party services

Movie descriptions and age ratings shown in the app are sourced from Common Sense Media and other public sources, for informational purposes only — this doesn't involve any of your personal data.

If you use Google sync, your watchlist file is stored in Google Drive, subject to Google's own privacy policy.

Revoking access

You can disconnect Google sync at any time using the "Disconnect" button in the app, or by removing Family Feature's access from your Google Account permissions. Disconnecting stops future syncing; it doesn't delete the file already saved in your Drive — you're welcome to delete that yourself.

Terms

Family Feature's terms are available at /terms.html.
